The Challenge
Standard ultrasonic sensors have a ~50mm blind zone from ringdown after the transmit pulse. This client's medical dispenser needed reliable detection down to 10mm.
The Solution
Separate TX and RX transducers eliminate the shared-element ringdown problem, paired with custom envelope detection firmware. Acoustic crosstalk at close range is managed with a staggered pulse timing scheme.
Results
Reliable detection at 10mm, which let the client shrink their reservoir housing and still detect a full reservoir accurately.
