The Challenge
Real-time indoor asset tracking across a large facility. The client wanted to use existing Ethernet infrastructure: no new power runs, no battery-powered units to maintain.
The Solution
PoE-powered monitor that scans for BLE asset tags and reports positions to the building management system. The onboard MCU filters and deduplicates tag advertisements locally, so only meaningful location updates hit the network. The PoE PD controller negotiates adequate power without exceeding the switch's per-port budget.
Results
Installed on existing Ethernet drops, no electrician needed. Staff who previously spent the first 20 minutes of a shift hunting for portable equipment now pull up a floor map on their tablet.
